Lisa has been an active part of the Cozumel Community since she moved to the Island in 1991. Her involvement with the HSCI started when Karla Porter of Pennsylvania formed the organization.
“I lived in Cozumel, it quickly became my home and I always believed that if you didn’t like the way something was, you changed it. Any change, even for the better is met with setbacks, obstacles and pain. It has not been easy but I like to think that in the last 16 years we have made a difference.”
Fostering everything from possums to an elephant, she has kept herself busy opening 3 restaurants and raising her daughter Bianca. “I believe the Humane Society of Cozumel Island will one day be a world class organization and will set standards for all animal rescue organizations and spay/neuter facilities all over Latin America”.
