Daisy
Mama Daisy is a sweet sweet dog, patient and loving with her five puppies. The whole little family came to the shelter when the babies were 10 days old, and she has brought them up healthy and beautiful. Daisy will be a great companion. Sweet, nice temper, cheerful and mature.

Greta
Greta was found wandering the streets and helped by security guards from a big home who brought her to the shelter. She is a wire-hair mix. She is very funny and quite a jumper. She can climb over fences so she needs a well walled home! Lovely, smart, energetic girl. Not good with cats though.

Tiny
Tiny is a beautiful Border Collie mix. We heard about Tiny from neighbors (of her owner) who reported she was neglected. Fortunately the owner relinquished her voluntarily and she is with us now. Tiny was a bit skinny and had pale gums as she was not fed properly, but a few weeks at the shelter have brought her weight to a healthy level. Tiny is very loving and social, and loves to lean against your legs.

Ruso
A good person found him on the street. He was completely covered in spines and sand spurrs, so bad he couldn't walk and one could hardly pick him up! He had to be sedated to remove all that matt with spiky stuff from him. Shaving him revealed one of the funniest faces we have ever had in this shelter, as you can tell. Just adorable.

Solana
Arenita
Solana was captured by Animal Control and the owners did not bother to claim her. She is quite mellow, friendly with dogs and people and has no issues with cats. When it's feeding time, she's the first one to know and alerts all the other dogs. That's her job. Solana is best friends with our Zeus, the character at the bottom of this list.

Luzma
luzma
This cute dog was seen around a construction site in the neighborhood where the shelter is. In fact, she used to bark at our shelter dogs when they were walked too close to what she considered her territories. It turned out that when the construction was finished her friends left, and the owners did not want her around. Common story, unfortunately. We brought her to the shelter and fixed her up, so now she is ready for a good, real home. She is a short legged dog, with a large personality.

Mili

Milly was wandering along the road that goes across the Island, and went into a ranch looking for food. She was taken in temporarily and after a few months brought to the shelter. A few months after that, Milly was taken to the cruiseship pier and someone fell in love with her and wanted to adopt her. Unfortunately the logostics for getting her to her new home got complicated and by the time she could go, the family had already adopted another dog. So, Milly is waiting for a second oportunity.

Metzli

A concerned citizen reported her to Animal Control and in collaboration they lured her out of an empty lot where she had her 5 puppies. She was very skinny, having fed her young on low reserves, but she quickly started recovering at the shelter. Metzly is one of the sweetest and most dedicated mama dogs we have had. She is a fairly small girl and now her pups are weaned and close to half her size, but she gets SO happy when we get them together! She has a very nice personality, mellow and loving to people and dogs. No problem with cats and she is the perfect size too!
